    我有去過3次, 每次都係自己去唔跟團, 因為有brothers係該邊study, 如果你鐘意陽光與海灘, 享往遊山玩水於大自然, 係好既選擇, 我覺得最好識渣車, 係香港apply國際車牌, 去到hawaii租車用會比較方便, 因為該度睇地圖好易, 沿海round island兜一個圈就可以去好多景點, 除左hawaii, 可以坐內陸機去其他島玩, 例如maui & 大島, 內陸機票隨時買到好似香港搭巴士咁方便, 或者參加當地local tour既package (hotel+air ticket)都得, 只要去hawaii 既china town裡面就有, 同埋該度d人好nice & 衣著隨便, 只係t-shirt, 短褲, 拖鞋就去邊都係咁樣著, 消費幾貴, 因為要pay tax仲貴過main land (美國該邊), 食方面音通, 多數係西餐 & 日本餐, 有元氣壽司仲平過香港, 但係無生三文魚, 得smoke既. 我好少出去食, 因為貴, 多數去supermarker買野自己煮, 但有時係supermarket裡面已經食飽左, 原因佢地係weekend & holiday 有好多試食counter, 佢地唔會將d野食cut到好細, 直頭成件過任試, size唔細, 一定食得好full咁行番出黎.
    你出發之前最好去書局買d 比較upadate既旅遊書做資料搜集, 如果覺得有d麻煩, 就最好跟團但時間會趕d.

    I had lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for 20 years. For Honeymoon couple, I recommend Air ticket + hotel package. If you join a tour, the itinerary will be rush and you will waste a lot of time waiting for others and assign shopping stops. The best way to enjoy Hawaii is to feel it. Spend more private time with each other. Morning walk on the beach at 7am when no one around. Sun bathing or swim up till 10am(the sun get too hot after 10am). Stole along Waikiki at night(8-10pm) Have a drink at the sidewalk club under the torch, listen to the music and watch the tourist walk by. Sunset Dinner Cruise(make sure you go on the big ship, the one with tall sail mask and 3 decks. After buffet dinner, skip the small show and get up to the top deck. See the wonderful sunset on open sea and the beautiful downtown and Waikiki behind you. Don't run around all over the island. Just pick the few main attractions Pearl Harbor, downtown, Chinatown(only a small block). Ala Moana Center. The bus can get to all this places. Or sign up for half day tour at hotel. Water activities like submarine to see the coral reef, and diving at Hanauma Bay to feed the fishes. The meals are easy, it can be plate lunch, simple buffet or fancy restaurant, range from $5 to $30US. Also Mcdonald is everywhere. You will have fun.

    Thank you for you two detailed info. My plan is to go to Hawaii or Guam for wedding ceremony and honeymoon...

    It depends on your luck.. The raining season is Nov – March. Sometimes it rains for days in Dec. If it does not rain, the weather is good, cool in day, but you will need a light jacket at night.

    If I want to go to one more island, which one would you recommend? Big island or maui? Neither of us has driving license, which one would be easier in terms of travelling around and joining of local tour?
    Thank you! We will be going there in feb/march, i guess the weather would be okay?

    If you don’t drive, you cannot do much. Taxi will be very costly. You may want to book a one day tour from Honolulu. It will include the r/t airfare, the bus tour about 6 hours with the bus driver double as guide. It departs 7am and return about 6pm. You can add a night hotel and return the next day.

    The big island has two cities, Hilo in the south, where the volcano is. Kona in the north, the landscape cover with lava. Not much for sightseeing. There are a few 4 or 5 star resort hotels. You can spend the whole time inside the resort compound, beautiful man made logon, but no beach.

    The Maui island airport is in the old town of Kahalui. No hotel here. The tourist spot is at the north, Kaapalani, over an hours drive. Many hotels along the beautiful sandy beach. There is an old fishing town Lahaina. You can get on a charter boat.

    For 1 day tour, I will see the volcano national park in Hilo. It is active now. If you want to enjoy the open sandy beach and the blue ocean, go to Maui. You can get a pay transfer between airport and hotel. Hire a taxi to get around near hotel area.

    I am planning to go there for registry and honeymoon in late Oct. Has anyone went there for registry before? any good photographer and viedographer to recommend?

    It's me again, is there any nice hotel to recommend on Big Island? My budget is not more than $1400/room per night. We probably will rent a car and pls comment one which is value for money and the location is not too far away from city.
