hey, just a passer-by. See some familar names here.

I have been to Club Med Kani 6 years ago. I did not live in their above water bungalow, but I think they are excellent for honeymoon purposes in terms of environment and privacy. of course you can't compare it to the luxury villa like Hilton Maldives. But if you're not going to spend more than US$1k for a room, I think Club Med Kani is a good choice in terms of value for money.

I like the 'full board' package and the entire environment of Club Med. Been in two Club Med sites and everytime enjoyed every moment. Food very good too. Of course I'm not talking about 6-star hotel fine dining. But really anything you could think of are provided.

When I was there many corals were dead becos of the 厄爾尼諾phonomenon. but i guess after all these years they should grow back.

well, V and i are thinking of going to maldives and/or bali for our honeymoons.

however, according to the traveling agencies, a 5-6 nights stay at the 5 start water bungalows are somewhere around HK$100000 for 2 people. it's a little too expensive.

whereas, bali is about 1/2 the price. and that bali has the best spas in the world, so it's very 'tempting' too...

For Bali, I'm worried about personal security... though of course their spa and everything is irresistable!

I'm sure if you go to places like Maldives Hilton and the like for more than US$1k per night, a 5-day trip easily reaches 100k.... oh the amount looks scary too.

club-med not your cup of tea? i believe it should be 50k for 2 for a same 5-day trip. I remember when i went there 6 years ago during low season (June), it was a mere 10k for a 9 day 7 night trip per person. ordinary room but full board!

I've been to Nice Club Med, kinda boring maybe I was only 10 back then?

so is late Oct a low season? however, if going to maldives, I really want to stay near water~ that's all about maldives, right?

I think Club Med is for couples and young people! if you go Club Med Kani for honeymoon, above water bundalow is a must!

their best season is Jan to Mar. Jun is a rainy time so low season. but not really problem as there's only some quick winds and rain in late afternoon and then back to normal.

Price in Oct / Nov should be okay bor. The price only got sudden jump in Dec and near Christmas, but this is only how I remember it and also when I looked at it last year.

I still find it amazing that when you sit in a boat in the lagoon, you could clearly see the shade of the boat on the sand below the shallow water...
