actually i prefer a daytime western banquet (either in lunch buffet or cocktail)
sounds more casual
but the problem is it's quite rush to finish the ceremony in church
then go to hotel and start the banquet immediately lor
but if start the ceremony too early, dun think many guests would attend ar
really stuck on the schedule arrangement >.<

how about others?

i would prefer lunch buffet or cocktail too,
we only invite both relatives n close frens to our "party"
i booked a lawyer to the hotel n register there in order can save more time.
what i afriad is the guests may feel boring as they just sit n 'watch',
also really dont know the agenda....register sin or eat sin lei?

u also can think abt book a lawyer to the hotel n register there,
gum time maybe easiler to manage !!!!

p.s my big day will be on 21 jan 2007, but still not yet book a hotel!

i think it's better to carry out the registration b4 eating la
but certainly drinks could be served beforehand and they can have chit chat or take photos w/ u first
are ur relatives young? coz i always think 老一輩 like traditional chi banquet more
so for myself, western one would only serve fds and colleagues while relatives would have a separate chi dinner

my bf is a catholic ar
so we must have ceremony in church
otherwise i must book repulse bay as my banquet venue
its outdoor environment is really good for having the ceremony

mine is on 07/10/27
still long long time~~~~~~

hi,

i also consider gold coast,
though the view is really nice but think the price is too high for
lunch buffet / cocktail.....also too far away for us, as most of our
relatives n frens r lived in hk n kln side.....so now wont consider
gold coast lu.....
i m now searching hk / kln side hotel for lunch buffet, but most of
them not included decoration, i also needa find decoration company
quote me the price.....really sucksssssssss.....
originally, i checked it out gar la, but my hubby's auntie hv lots of
noise on this as my hubby's mom not lives in hk, too far away to
consult her, so she thinks she can take charge of this loh.....
really dai B n sorpo......
she told us b4, she knows somebody work in hotels wor, can help
us to search n bargin a better price wor, gum we let her do loh...
last mth she told us let us arrange wor, she has not time wor, she
cant help wor, play us till die la....really very sucksssssssssssssssss
now i needa take up her "job" again loh....
i know time is getting very short, really dunno ah.....
i al'dy black face to her n to my hubby, really ma fan

Hi Hana,

Can you please give me some info on Conrad? How much did they charge you for the food & beverage? I am going to have a look at the grand hyatt and island shangri later today. They all have a minimum charge of 50,000 or 60,000... which is quite a lot considering that I'll only have around 60 guests. Do you have any other good suggestions?

Thanks a million!

jello jowee,

sorry i haven't this forum for some time and just read your message. we booked conrad's hennessy room for our wedding and the minimum charge was $38,000 + 10% for food + beverage. the following was our menu and end up we had about 75 guests.

at first we thought the tempura station would be quite interesting, but end up some guests didn't know about the tempura station at all (since it's in the corner). i must say the tempura prawns and vegetables were very delicious, but the station is not really a must.

both my husband and i like the hennessy room which has a night view on admiralty. we were satisfied with the service and also happy that our guests liked the food.

jowee,

btw, some remarks for your information too:

- Attendant of 11 years old or below will have a 20% discount on menu price
- Attendant of 2 years old or below will be free of charge

Beverage:
- Beverage can be arranged on consumption basis to master bill or packages as below:
· HK$150 plus 10% service charge per person to include soft drinks, fresh orange juice, beers, and mineral water for maximum of 4 hours
· House white and red wines are available for the above package at HK$180 plus 10% service charge per person for a maximum of 4 hours

we chose the $150 beverage package.

also in fact i've checked with a few hotels before, e.g. grand hyatt, ritz carlton, four seasons, marriott, etc. i chose conrad because i like the room with a view, think the price is reasonable and also the catering sales was nice.

i've listed the menus of other hotels at this thread. pls check here for your info:
